MicroCloud Node

A Microcloud basically comprises of 12 Nodes/sled's which fit into 1 Server Chassis. Each node is in itself a complete Server. So this means you have 12 Intelk Xeon E3 Servers in one small form factor Chassis.

As you can imagine this will save you a lot of rack space compared to running 12 individual 1U Servers. This can be crucial to fitting more servers in your Datacentres!

Not only does it save rack space, it will save you power aswell. All 12 systems (nodes) are power from 2 x Redundant 1620W 80Plus Platium Power Supplies meaning it is a very power efficient. 

Server maintenance is another advantage the MicroCloud has. If you have a failure, simply remove the node and replace the failed component. If the node has failed completely, then we can replace the entire node and get your systems back up and running as sonn as possible. 

Each node can fit upto 2 x 3.5" Drives or 4 x 2.5" drives with the appropriate backets. You can install upto 32GB of memory with its 4 x DIMM slots and 1 x Intel Xeon E3 v3 Haswell processor.







The System configuration our client was going for in this MicroCloud is: 
Intel Xeon E3-1240v3 Haswell
4 x 8GB (32GB) Kingston 1600MHz Memory
Intel 600GB S3500 Enterprise Series SSD's
Western Digital 2TB Enterprise SATA Hard Drives

MicroCloud Node
Here you can see a node with the Processor installed with the heatsink as well as the 4 x 8GB memory modules fitted. Each node comes with 2 x GbE LAN ports and 1 x IPMI dedicated LAN port. Display and USB ports are provided via a propriatary cable which is provided with the Microcloud. 

Each node has now been fully integrated and can be installed back into the main chassis. Each system will now go through 24 hours uninterrupted testing.
